Full Access Detroit was invited to the Magic of Lights show at Pine Knob Music Theatre by 313 Presents and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity. To kick off the holiday spirit, the venue put on a drive through spectacle of lighting arrangements. This is absolutely awesome for all ages. I would strongly recommend a thermos full of hot cocoa and snacks to enhance the mood.
We drove through at a snails pace admiring all of the work these guys put in. All in all, it took us about an hour to dive through with a LOT of ooohs and ahhhs in between. The arrangements were well thought out. We particularly had a lot of fun trying to remember the 12 days of Christmas words as we drove through a visual representation of the song (don’t cheat and look up the words before going!). Don’t forget to tune into their FM radio station while going through!
I took notice that they did a nice job of representing a variety a religious faiths. There were a lot of enormous displays of childhood favorites like Barbie and the Monster Truck Bigfoot. The jurassic era was also well done. They had some great displays including animated T-Rex, Triceratops, Brontosaurus, and Stegosaurus.
About half way through, there’s a pit stop with a brilliant selfy station, a giant gift you can walk inside. Staff is on hand and quite helpful for the group shots.
The event is being held from Friday, November 18 till Saturday, December 31. Standard hours are from 5:30-10pm and the are open later until 11 on Fridays and Saturdays. They will be open on the holidays, so if you want to really get in the spirit, they will welcoming you from 5:30pm-9pm Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve!
