Tesla (The Fillmore - Detroit, MI) - 2/21/17

Legendary rock band Tesla makes a stop at the Fillmore Detroit on their 30th Anniversary Tour. Yes… 30 years. Tesla opened up the night with MP3 off their latest
Album “Simplicity” (2014) and continued to play hit after hit from 1986 to present day. Not missing a beat and sounding as good as they ever have, Tesla put on a performance that demonstrated 30 years of experience in rock and roll. Lead singer, Jeff Keith, still has every ounce of power and grit in his vocals. A full Fillmore Detroit enjoyed 3 Tesla sets- Electric, Acoustic and back to electric. Tesla is still rocking with 4 of their original members; Jeff Keith (Vocals), Frank Hannon (Lead Guitar+), Brian Wheat (Bass/Keys), Troy Luccketta (Drums) along with Dave Rude (guitar, bass and backing vocals)

I could not possibly pick one favorite song of the night. The entire evening was filled with music that took me back to having a Pioneer Supertuner III in the dashboard along with a pair of 6x9s rattling the back window blaring on my way to Stoney Creek with a car full of friends and a cooler full of beers.

Tesla is headlining their anniversary tour with The Cringe in support. The Cringe are from New York. Led by a very energetic John Cusimano, their style can be described as true rock and roll. John really engages and interacts with the crowd combined with a rocking band, they really got the crowd primed for Tesla. Fans were out of their seats and had their hands in the air.
