Three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and soul icon Sade releases her first new original music in eight years, contributing two versions of “Flower of the Universe” to the A Wrinkle in Time Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Album out now.

In addition to performing, she co-wrote and co-produced the song alongside Ben Travers and longtime collaborator Andrew Hale. Beyond the powerful, passionate, and poignant original take on “Flower of the Universe,” she also offers up a Remix by legendary GRAMMY® Award-winning producer No I.D. [Kanye West, Rihanna, JAY-Z]. It’s the first time she’s contributed a song to a soundtrack since 1986. She joins other heavy hitters such as DJ Khaled, Demi Lovato, Sia, and more on the album. Check out the tracklisting below.
About the track, A Wrinkle in Time filmmaker Ava DuVernay commented, “My creative partnership with Sade on ‘Flower of the Universe’ was so connected that I reverse engineered the usual process and used her lyrics as actual dialogue within the film.”
This also marks the first new recording from Sade since the release of her gold-certified 2010 sixth album, Soldier of Love [Epic Records]—which bowed at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. The title track garnered the 2011 GRAMMY® Award for “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.”
